Welcome to the Southwestern College Financial Aid web page! Here you will find everything you need to know about receiving money to help pay for college expenses including books, fees, transportation, and other educational expenses. Funds are provided by the Federal Government and the State of California in the form of loans, grants, and on-campus jobs. Eligibility requirements include:

• You must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
• You must register and complete at least six units (half-time status) each semester you attend.
• You must be making satisfactory progress towards an educational objective.
• You must be able to prove financial need.

To apply for Financial Aid, you must complete a “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA). You may pick up a FAFSA in the Financial Aid office,or you may find one online at www.ed.gov.To complete the online application you must request a pin through this link,which will allow you to sign the application electronically and make subsequent corrections to your original application via the web.

If you are a male, you must also register with the Selective Service. This can be done online through the Selective Service System at www.sss.gov.
