AFRO 110 AFRICAN-AMERICAN HISTORY I 3 Units Grade only. [Recommended Preparation: RDG 56 or the equivalent skill level as determined by the Southwestern College Reading Assessment or equivalent.] Emphasizes the study of the African-American experience from African origins to the conclusion of the Civil War. Focuses on the Atlantic slave trade and slavery in the United States. Includes a study of the Constitution of the United States and the responsibilities of American citizenship.
