You can still enroll for the Fall semester fast track classes which begin on Monday, October 18. You can turn in your admissions application at the Student Services office.

Applications for the Spring 2010 semester are now being accepted. You can apply on-line at www.swccd.edu.

Beginning on Monday, October 6, the hours of operation for the HECOM bookstore will be:

Monday and Tuesday  9:30 am to 1:30 pm & 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Wednesday and Thursday 9:30 am to 1:30 pm

Career/Transfer Center - Room 4101, Ext. 4403

Are you still undecided on a major? Do you need help researching university information? If so, stop by the Career/Transfer Center where you will find a variety of materials such as books, brochures, computer programs, university articulation agreements, and college/university catalogs. A career assessment test is also available to help you determine which major best suits you. Come visit us today in room 4101.

Counseling - 4100 building, Ext. 4403

Attention students! Spring 2010 registration is just around the corner. If you need assistance in selecting classes, or completing a Student Education Plan or Semester by Semester plan, then stop by the Student Services office to schedule an appointment with one of our Counselors. Also, any student planning to transfer to a CSU or UC university for 2010; should attend the following workshops. To sign in, contact the Student Services office.

Campus Police - 4100 building

Escort service is available to the student or faculty/staff parking lots only, not off campus. Assistance for battery jump or locked keys is also available for cars parked on college parking lots. If escort service is needed, stop by the Student Services office to make appropriate arrangements.

Important: Do not walk/trespass over the freeway that is currently under construction. If you are caught trespassing, you may be cited or badly injured as the construction vehicles travel at high rates of speed.

EOPS - 4100 building, Ext. 4402

The first EOPS appointment must be completed within the first 8 weeks of the semester. In order to meet that deadline, you need to schedule and complete that appointment by October 9th, 2009 . The second EOPS appointment is the progress report. Please be sure to check your email over the next few weeks as we will be sending you more information regarding this appointment as well as the progress report form for you and your instructors to fill out. 

Financial Aid - 4100 building, Ext. 4405

Beginning on Tuesday, October 6, and on every Tuesday during the fall 2009 semester, a financial aid technician is scheduled to be here for walk-ins from 8:00 am – 11:45 am and 1:15 pm – 5:45 pm.

FAFSA applications for the 2009/2010 school year are still available. You MUST apply on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGW) application can help you pay for tuition fees.

Disability Support Services - 4100 building, Ext. 4403

Do you think you might have a learning disability but are not certain? Our DSS Counselor can help you. Stop by Student Services to complete a program application and schedule an appointment with our DSS Counselor.

Fire Science/ EMT /Paramedic - 4100 building, Ext. 6760

October is Fire Prevention Month and fire departments around the county will be holding open house events. Join us at Chula Vista Fire Station 4 (corner of Paseo Ranchero and East H St. ) on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 from 10:00am-2:00pm for their annual Open House.

Visit our library to access a variety of services such as reference and circulating books, periodicals, and electronic collections, as well as computers, printers, and study rooms. You can also request books from other libraries to be sent here for pick-up.

Come and take a break with us. The library now receives the SD Union Tribune as well as some popular magazines, such as Time, Newsweek, People and People en Español.

Student Identification Cards - 4100 building, Ext. 4401

You can have your student picture ID taken in the Student Services office. First time IDs are free and replacements are $5.00. You must be currently enrolled in classes to request an ID.
