INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION

[Recommended Preparation: RDG 158 or the equivalent skill level as determined by the Southwestern College Reading Assessment or equivalent.] Focuses on interpersonal communication theories, principles, and on public speaking. Emphasis on self-concept, perception, communication climates, verbal and nonverbal communication, listening, feedback and disclosure skills, conflict styles, resolution strategies, ethics, and mediated communication. Special focus on communication in family, friendship, romantic, workplace, and intercultural relationships. [D; CSU]
