Faculty Resources

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the Admissions faculty page! Whether you are a new or current faculty member, our priority is to assist you in making your teaching process as easy and efficient as possible.

This webpage has been designed to provide you with important attendance accounting guidelines, grading information, and to make you aware of important deadlines. The information posted on the faculty webpage will be updated every semester and session.

On behalf of Admissions, we wish you a great semester and look forward to assisting you soon!

Attendance Accounting Manual

The attendance accounting manual has been designed to assist faculty in reporting student attendance in college classes. The procedures described are in compliance with Title 5, Section 58030 of the California Administrative Education Code which states, “The governing board of each community college district shall adopt procedures that will document all course enrollment, attendance, and disenrollment information required by the provisions of this chapter.”

The attendance accounting manual includes information including add and drop procedures, grading, rosters, and other related policies and procedures. Therefore it is highly recommended that you review the attendance manual periodically to ensure you are following procedures.

You will also find that a faculty bulletin entitled “Attendance Accounting Schedule” will be distributed online prior to the beginning of each semester or summer session which will outline key deadline dates.

Attendance Accounting Schedule

The attendance accounting schedule has been published to assist faculty in reporting student attendance in college courses. It also contains important dates and deadlines for the current semester or session such as adding and dropping courses, grading, etc. However, please note that for short-term (fast track courses) you will need to log on to the college WebAdvisor system to check specific course deadlines (i.e. refund deadline, drop deadline, etc.).

In addition, you will find important information regarding census and positive attendance rosters.

Please be aware that a faculty bulletin entitled “Attendance Accounting Schedule” will  also be distributed online to all faculty prior to the beginning of each semester or summer session.

Grading Procedures

Grades are assigned in each course and recorded on a student's permanent record. These grades affect the student's future; therefore, it is important that careful consideration be given to the grades assigned by the instructors (Policy No. 5023).
