All Family Resource Center services and workshops are FREE and are available to the general public.
The Family Resource Center offers workshops on site at the Higher Education Center as well as in the community.
To date, workshops have been offered to students at National City Adult Education, to parents of elementary school students of National City Schools, to clients of our sister Family Resource Centers in National City as well as to staff of community partner agencies, high school students and senior citizens groups.
Workshops on higher education opportunities and career development are taught by a Southwestern College counselor.
Dental Hygiene topics are arranged in collaboration with the SWC Dental Hygiene Program and taught by SWC students.
Other community topics such as conflict resolution, domestic violence, homebuying and credit counseling may be taught by a community partner agency.
Residents are invited to call or stop by the Family Resource Center to inquire about community services that are available.
Depending on the area of need, referrals may be made to our partner agencies to help our clients find the services they are seeking. For direct access to a broad range of community resources and services, see the Info Line of San Diego website at www.informsandiego.com
The Family Resource Center maintains a small library of resources which is available to the community. This includes reference books, pamphlets and videos in English and Spanish on community services, parenting, housing issues and other topics. Flyers and brochures from our partner agencies representing a wide array of services are on hand.
Our community bulletin board has postings on upcoming community events, fair, classes and services, many of which are free to the public.
