JUNE 2013 LTA Training Session
CCAC's LIFEGUARD TEACHING ASSISTANT (LTA) TRAINING PROGRAM
A fundamental 6-week training program that will provide participants the basic leadership skills to work with youth and adults in CCAC's outdoor boating and aquatic sport program.
Participants will be prepared to assist staff in the areas of surfing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddle board. Basic water safety and emergency response training provided by Silver Strand State Beach Lifeguard personnel in six Saturday full-day sessions beginning in March. Minimum age 15.
This is a great way to become qualified as a Recreation Assistant and eligible to become employed as a CCAC Lifeguard Teaching Assistant. Program courses are offered through Southwestern College's Continuing Education Department - the courses are offered at no tuition charge and a small fee per class to cover the required text books and certification cards from American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
