The main use for outcome data is for the improvement of academic
programs, student services and administrative units in order to improve
student learning and success.
The SOAR committee''s annual Student Outcomes and Achievement Review Report presents the quantitative data for the district's Institutional Student Learning Outcomes assessment and its Institution-Set Standards as well as the qualitative analysis, findings, and recommendations from the committee for the Shared Consultation Council to consider. Data and analysis found in this report can be used in the following ways:
Foundation for strategic planning by the College
- Basis of institutional decision-making regarding student learning and success
- Data component used to complete Program Review
- Requirement of our accreditors, Accrediting Commission of Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC)

Note: SWC Policy 4350 and Procedure 4350 prohibit the use of outcome assessment student success data for evaluation.
