2014-15 Prioritized Annual Goals & Objectives

Goal #1:
IMPROVE INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS = ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURES SUPPORTING TEACHING AND LEARNING

Objective 1: Develop org strategic & financial priorities
    Achieve fiscal independence
    Develop new, non-general fund, revenue streams
    Assure budget priorities support student success

Objective 2: Integrate data/student management systems
    Assure Ellucian project implementation
    Successfully hire a well-qualified CISO
    Develop sustainable IT budget

Objective 3: Institutionalize superior accreditation standards
    Champion self-evaluation
    Lead Standard IV compliance

ENSURE STUDENT ACCESS TO SUCCESS = DISTRICT-WIDE STUDENT SUCCESS FOCUS

Objective 1: Promote a SWC student success experience
    Implement "students come first" plan
    Champion Puertas al Futuro
    Provide supporting professional development activities

Objective 2: Strengthen intersegmental alliances
    Establish effective relationship with SUHSD
    Promote & improve SWC transfer to UCSD
    Promote & improve ADT transfer to SDSU

Objective 3: Promote local jobs preparedness
    Improve/strengthen advisory committees
    Assure innovative collaboration with industry
    Promote and develop internships

IMPROVE CULTURE AND CLIMATE = MUTUAL TRUST AND RESPECT

Objective 1: Restore collegiality & hope
    Lead implementation of a student-first focus
    Expand relationships beyond lead team members
    Develop and implement CMT training

Objective 2: Improve communications systems
    Develop and implement District communication plan
    Assure SharePoint training & meta-tag usage

Objective 3: Establish/maintain strong board relations
    Assist in planning board retreat
    Provide Week in Review updates
    Schedule and facilitate appropriate workshops & listening tours

Objective 1: Build business/government relations
    Serve on local non-profit boards
    Advocate University & Innovation Park initiative
    Host workforce/econ development forum

Objective 2: Strengthen SWC Foundation
    Improve donation and scholarship accounting
    Champion annual giving and alumni projects
    Establish Executive Director position

Objective 3: Implement Prop R New Look 2025
    Provide and participate in outreach events
    Attend CBOC meetings
    Assure overall compliance
