Southwestern College Library Media Collection
Over 1300 DVD titles are available in the library's collection. Faculty can browse the DVD collection on the second floor in the library or search the library catalog for a specific title or subject. Materials in the DVD collection may be checked out by faculty for classroom use.
Films on Demand
Films on Demand is a streaming video database. It provides access to licensed educational streaming videos on a variety of academic subjects.Our subscription & license allows current SWC students, faculty, staff, and administrators to access the streaming videos from on and off campus location and films or clips can also be embedded into either the Blackboard or Canvas course management systems.
The streaming collection of over 23,000 full-length videos and 238,000+ video clips on a variety of subject areas. Captioning is available within this streaming database. View the Films On Demand Visual Guide on how to search, view and embed streaming resources.
Intelecom Online Resources Network
This streaming database includes over 2800 academic video clips, each averaging 3 to 5 minutes in length. Topics include Allied Health, Oceanography, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Health, and Environmental Studies. Video clips can be accessed on campus and remotely by faculty. For remote access contact the library's reference desk. San Diego County Office of Education Media Consortium Collection
Southwestern College faculty and staff may borrow media from the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) media library . The media library is a collection of nearly 3,000 media titles to support instruction, and are available in DVD and VHS formats. Please be aware that some titles in this collection are not captioned.
Searching & reserve booking of the SDCOE Media Consortium Collection
You can search for titles and place an order for delivery to Southwestern College by using the L4U catalog. The booking service and delivery to campus is free, but you must set up a free faculty account prior to placing an order (see below). To learn more about the service, see these resources:

You will need to set up a free account to reserve or setup delivery of the Media Consortium materials. The County Office of Education Media Services department should be contacted directly for new user accounts and all issues regarding the circulation of their media. Delivery and Pickup (Library Building 620 - Circulation Service Counter)
All requested media is delivered to the Southwestern College Main Campus Iibrary the following Monday or Thursday morning for you to pick up on campus. Or, you may go to the SDCOE media collection office yourself to pick up media during their normal business hours, if that is more convenient for you.
