Southwestern Community College District Benefits Office provides faculty, staff, administrators, retirees and COBRA participants with support on the District's health, welfare, and retirement benefits plans by providing one-on-one counseling and assistance over the phone, in person, and via email, and maintaining an effective benefits communication program.

Fringe Benefits for All Full-Time Contract Employee Groups
The District provides health and welfare benefits to all full-time contracted employees and their dependents. Those employees working less than full-time contract will receive a pro-rata share of the benefit package.

MEDICAL – The employee has a choice of Kaiser Permanente, United Healthcare HMO, PPO, and Alliance. Employees may elect to change carriers once per year during open enrollment. Normally such election shall become effective January 1 of each year.

DENTAL –All employees are required to participate in a District paid Dental plan. Employee may choose from Delta or MetLife Dental.

LIFE INSURANCE – The District provides a $25,000 life insurance policy for Classified employees and $50,000 policy for Faculty, Confidential and Administrators.
