Shery Medler is the Chair of the Biology Department at SWC. Shery received her B.S. and M.S. in Biology from San Diego State University, and has been working fulltime at SWC since 1984.
Shery loves teaching and strives to help her students make connections between life choices and their personal and global future. Her goals are to provide perspective and motivate students to develop an effective worldview.
In her spare time, Shery enjoys international travel, especially exploring the natural history, environmental concerns and cultures of various countries. In the process, she has managed to visit all seven continents. She also greatly enjoys wilderness camping, sea kayaking, and she paddles with an outrigger canoe club.
