Are you a graduating senior, first-time college student, returning student, adult learner, or Guidance Counselor?
The Outreach team is happy to help you explore your options at Southwestern College and guide you through the enrollment process. 

Whatever your background, the Outreach team is committed to providing you with information about Southwestern College programs, services, enrollment procedures, and academic opportunities. Our goal is to make sure you have the information and resources you need to make an informed decision, and ease your transition into Southwestern College.

Finding the right college for you can require many steps. Admissions. Residency. Student Support. Health Services. It’s a lot. We get it! And that’s why we’re here to help you every step of the way.

Early Admissions

Graduating High School Seniors and first-time college students can take advantage of the Early Admissions Program and receive extensive support through the enrollment process. Register to our Become a Jaguar workshops and experience a smooth transition to SWC. Complete the process by mid-May and receive early registration!

Dual Enrollment, CCAP

California College and Career Pathways Program (CCAP)

Get more mileage out of your education. While you’re in high school, you can take courses that are transferable to Southwestern College, and other colleges/universities.

We can customize presentations for schools and large groups— whether it’s a family, high school seniors or elementary school students. The Outreach staff is multilingual, and we are happy to provide services in English, Spanish, and Arabic.

Become an Outreach Peer Ambassador!

Peer Ambassadors are student workers that embody the Southwestern College mission as college representatives, showcasing our commitment to serving a diverse student community. They actively engage with the public, providing information about our academic programs, extensive student support services, and our dedication to ensuring equitable access and clear pathways to student success at Southwestern College. Their responsibilities include recruiting and supporting potential and current students with the CCAP and Early Admission process, while connecting them to other campus programs and services.

If you want to promote higher education, support Southwestern College, and participate in outreach efforts, you should apply to be a Peer Ambassador for an upcoming academic year. Peer Ambassadors work 20 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters and earn $16.00 per hour.
We accept application at any time but only hire in August before the fall semester starts or when positions become vacant .

Are You Eligible to Apply?

  • Students who meet the following eligibility requirements and qualifications are encouraged to apply:
    • Must be cleared to take in-person classes & work in person.
    • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Maintain a minimum term and cumulative 2.0 GPA.
    • Maintain a course load minimum of at least 6 semester units.
    • Commitment to work a minimum of 12 hours per week and up to 25 hours per week.
    • Have a minimum of 2 full days (8 am - 4 pm) available.
    • Must be available for  mandatory weekly Friday trainings (9 am - 11 am).
    • The ideal candidate should commit to working with Outreach for 2 or more semesters.   
  • What Are the Responsibilities of a Student Ambassador?:
    Under the general direction of the Outreach staff, Peer Ambassadors will:
    • Inform target populations about academic and support services available at Southwestern College.
    • Assist prospective students and their parents in completing the Southwestern College application.
    • Assist prospective students on how to obtain necessary residency and admission clearance.
    • Inform and direct students and parents toward eligible Financial Aid resources.
    • Assist high school students with CCAP course registration and enrollment.
    • Attend weekly mandatory staff training meetings - Fridays from 9 am - 11 am.
    • Present about Southwestern College to groups of prospective students via zoom and in person.
    • Answer student questions via Outreach Cranium Lobby.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Support the Outreach marking team in flyers, video creation, acting on promotional videos, pictures, and social media content.
