Backing up its commitment to ensure that Jaguar student athletes have every opportunity to excel in the classroom as well as on the athletic fields, the Southwestern College Athletics Department has established the Athletic Academic Success Program. This program complements the Academic Success Center which serves to foster self-motivated, independent, lifelong learners through a college-wide network of academic tutoring, workshops and advising. The Athletic Success Program, an additional component to Academic Success, is administered and monitored by counselors in The School of Counseling & Personal Development.

It is the goal of the Athletic Academic Success Program to assist student athletes in developing an academic plan for successful academic achievement. It is a state of the art process that not only monitors the student athlete’s eligibility but also insures the student athletes are on the track needed to get their AA degree and achieve each athlete's personal goals. The Academic Success Program gives real time information to the Athletic Counselors and Coaches for immediate attention should goals or transfer programs at four year schools change.

Learning Resource Center and Library

The new Learning Resource Center located at the North end of campus with easy parking lot access was opened in 2003. The LRC houses a state of the art library complete with group study areas, individual study areas and meeting rooms. Students have access to banks of computers allowing for an inviting work environment. Also located in the LRC is the TeleMedia Department featuring the campus video production center, the Graphic Arts Department and the On Line Learning Center. Check the Library hours of operation.

Student Services Center

At Southwestern College, it is our priority to make the entire educational process – from enrollment to graduation – smooth and efficient. Offering personalized attention in a comfortable atmosphere, our dedicated staff is here to help students make the most out of their time spent on the Southwestern College campus. To help accomplish this Southwestern College developed a concept of "One Stop Shopping" where all necessary components of the process are located in one building located in the center of the campus. The Student Services Center handles student needs as listed.
