  • ALL CONFERENCE SELECTIONS 2009

The JAGS had 7 players selected to ALL CONFERENCE honors this week. It is an honor to present the following players that were selected by the conference head coaches:

FR RB AARON HARRIS (1st Team All Conference)
The Granite Hills freshman was a unanimous First Team All Conference selection. AARON broke the 23 year old single season rushing record with a mark of 1,169 yards on 200 carries. He also broke the single season rushing TD record set last season with a total of 14 rushing TD’s.

FR OT MARCUS CLEMENTS (1st Team All Conference)
A top newcomer that transfered in from New Jersey to join family in San Diego MARCUS had a dominating season allowing only ONE SACK over 10 games from his Right Tackle position. A solid run blocker MARCUS is off to a great college start.

SO K ABEL PEREZ (1st Team All Conference)
One of the top performers at his position in the state ABEL (Castle Park HS) was a force in the kicking game. A quote from another Head Coach at the meeting, "He kicks the ball better that NFL kickers right now" says it all. ABEL has a full scholarship offer at SDSU.

SO QB STEVEN CARROLL (2nd Team All Conference)
Playing in only 5 1/2 games this season due to injuries STEVEN (Oceanside HS) threw for 1,616 yards and 12 TD’s. Voted captain by his teammates, STEVEN set the tone for the team.

SO WR GEORGE BELL (2nd Team All Conference)
Second on the all time receiving records in the history of the college, GEORGE (San Diego HS) had one of the all time careers in San Diego County. GEORGE will continue his career at ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY in January.

SO DE JARED JACKSON (2nd Team All Conference)
In only his second season of playing football, JARED (Bonita Vista HS) turned his career around on a dime with a great work ethic in the weight room and on the field. Known for his all out effort in games, JARED has been offered a full scholarship at NEVADA RENO.

SO OL RICK SANTOS (2nd Team All Conference)
At 5’10, 250 lbs RICK (Bonita Vista HS) was a two year starter for the JAGS on two of the all time offensive units in the history of the college. Know for his "Grit"... strong effort and balance RICK was a key or our teams success.

Player of the Week
  • SWC vs. SD Mesa (11/7/09)

MJDEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME:  MICHAEL JOHNSON (New Smyrna Beach HS / Daytona Beach FL).  MIKE is in his third year with SWC having red shirted this past season.  The starting NT and team Captain stepped up his productivity between the tackles and dominated the interior running game.

IWOFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME:  IAN WATTERS (Mammoth HS) a sophomore, IAN has started every game for the JAGS this season.  His outstanding zone blocking this past week allowed our ground game to chew up yardage and lead to victory.

AHOFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME:  Fr RB AARON HARRIS (Granite Hills HS) rushed 27 times for 159 yards and a TD.  AARON shattered the single season rushing record set by DANNY HOLMES in 1986 (1,024).  With one game to go AARON leads the Mountain Conference with 1,144 yards.  AARON has also broken the single season rushing TD record with 13 breaking the record set this past season by KENSLOW SMITH (Helix HS/Sac State).

CWSPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE GAME:  CASSY "Snoop" WHITE (San Diego HS) was a major force in the return area for the JAGS...he returned 3 kickoffs for over 100 total yards and was a step away from breaking two of them for TD's.  His outstanding play set our offense up with great field position and kept the Olympians stuck with a long field all night.

FVBIG STICK:  FABIAN VARELA (Southwest HS) set the tone for defensive line play by driving the OT back into the backfield and cut the play off at the start.
