Update
The Lady Jaguar Softball Team is working very hard in preparation for the upcoming 2009 Pacific Coast Conference Softball Season. We have increased our strength via weight training, improved our endurance and over all footwork, skills and conditioning in preparation for our 2008 Fall softball competition.
On October 4, 2008, we traveled to Arizona Western Community College for a 2 game series. In the past, we had had difficulty playing with them. This is no longer the case. Our caliber of play has improved significantly and games were close in scoring. We scored 'First' and games remained close. Solid pitching, few Jaguar strikeouts and tough defensive play made it an extremely optimistic performance.
This Saturday, November 1, 2008, we travel to Los Angeles to play 2 games against Loyola Marymount University. Our players will get the opportunity to visit the LMU campus and play against "NCAA Division 1" College scholarship athletes. We are excited about the opportunity and plan to make the most productive effort possible. We look at it as an excellent opportunity for our players to see and be seen for possible, future academic and softball career paths.
Remember one of the great opportunities of playing softball at Southwestern College is the ability to win a starting position as a freshman. We continue to build a winning Tradition with "YOU" in mind.

My college experience has been a little different than most college athletes because I am a full time student at SDSU as well as SWC. I competed for the Lady Jaguars in the 2008 season and we did phenomenal! We accomplished many of our goals and paved the way for a great future. As we gear up for a challenging 2009 season we are mentally focused and physically prepared. We look forward to competing against teams such as LMU, Palomar and Grossmont, and competing in the State Finals. SWC softball offers a chance to compete at the college level, gain leadership experience, create lasting friendships and move on to play at a four year university, international or even professional level. Playing softball at southwestern truly has been a great experience.
