This free online website provides more than 1,500 videos of courses and individual guest lectures from six top universities. You can select lectures from 17 discipline areas, from Astronomy to Religion. You can watch online or download to a PC or iPod. It's a great way to learn more about a topic.

These databases will provide you with streaming audio content.

  • Classical Music Library (Alexander St. Press)
    Delivers tens of thousands of classical recordings that can be listen to on the Internet.

  • Smithsonian Global Sound (Alexander St. Press)
    A virtual encyclopedia of the world's musical and aural traditions. The database includes an extraordinary array of more than 35,000 individual tracks of music, spoken word, and natural and human-made sound.

  • African American Song (Alexander St. Press)
    Documents in sound the African American experience from the earliest records through the 1970's.

  • American Song (Alexander St. Press)
    An online music history service of over 12,000 songs about Civil Rights, political campaigns, Prohibition, the Civil War, anti-war protests and more.

    Includes nearly one million images in the areas of art, architecture, the humanities, social sciences and other visual culture from around the globe.
