Remote access to databases and electronic books is available to current students, faculty, and staff of Southwestern College . Before you request off campus access, please read the directions and information below.

Databases

Students must be currently enrolled in a Southwestern College credit course to receive the off campus passwords to the databases.

Eligible students may pick up the list of passwords at the Reference Desk in the Library during open hours. Students will be asked to provide their current student ID card and a current semester validation sticker.

Students who are not on campus may request a copy of the off campus password list. Please use the online Password Request Form www.swccd.edu/~library/PasswordRequest/. Currently enrolled students will receive the list of passwords within minutes by email.

Passwords expire at the end of every semester.

Electronic Books

Southwestern College library owns electronic books accessible through NetLibrary. To access the books from off campus, you MUST first create a NetLibrary account on an on-campus computer.

To create your NetLibrary account:

  1. Use any computer with Internet access located on the Southwestern College campus.
  2. Go to www.netlibrary.com.
  3. Click on create an account in the right-hand column of the screen and follow the instructions provided.
  4. After you've created your NetLibrary account, you can log into NetLibrary from any off-campus location and access electronic books located in the Southwestern College Library Collection.

If you forget your NetLibrary password or have any other questions about your NetLibrary account, please contact netLibrary's Customer Service Department .
