NetLibrary E-book Collection
NetLibrary is a shared collection of electronic books on a wide range of subjects. Access is free for SWC students, faculty, and staff. You will need to create a User Account from any on-campus computer to access NetLibrary from off campus locations. Free sites:
American Memory American Memory is a collection of digital texts and images, including books, manuscripts, photographs, and film created from the collections of the U.S. Library of Congress.

Bartleby.com an online collection of digital reference books, poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. Includes such classics as Strunk's Elements of Style and Frazer's Golden Bough.

Electronic Text Center a project at the University of Virginia to create thousands of electronic texts in many subject areas and languages. Most texts can be viewed online.

Escholarship more than 400 online titles from the University of California Press are available to the general public.

Google Book Search locate books on all types of topics and new titles are being added daily. Some books are available in limited portion due to copyright or publisher restrictions and you may need to create a google account in order to view some digital book content.

Humanities Text Initiative a collection of literary, historical and religious texts developed by the University of Michigan . Includes projects like the American Verse Project and the Making of America.

National Academy Press access to 3,000 online books in PDF format from the National Academy Press.

Online Books Page The goal of the Online Books Page is to facilitate access to books that are freely readable over the Internet. This site includes a searchable database of over 20,000 book titles available from many different sources.

Online Literature Library: An Online Library of Literature includes an index of thirty authors.

Online Texts Collection: Internet Public Library a subject guide of electronic texts freely available through the Internet.

Project Gutenberg provides access to books in electronic text format after they entered the public domain. Includes literature and reference sources such as almanacs, encyclopedias, and dictionaries. The works may be searched or browsed by author or title.

Read Print is a free online library of short stories, poems and thousands of free books.
