Welcome to the SWC Photography Program.
Here, you will find information about our department, programs, class offerings, and supportive materials. The SWC Photography Program teaches darkroom photography, digital photography, and digital imaging. The program includes digital imagining classes in some of it’s associate degree options. Also, the program is closely tied to Telemedia, Graphic Design, Journalism, Forensics, and Studio Art.

You will find downloadable PDF documents and online tutorial videos to help explain common questions about the procedures used in our program for both darkroom and digital classrooms. Also, there is information on studio policies, printing policies, and copy-stand policies.

Jose Barrera, Photojournalist and Photo-editor from Los Angeles will be at SWC on Sept. 16th to
present his work. The lecture will be from 11:00-12:00 followed by a Q&A period.

APASD Presents: Plastic Fantastic
A Group Exhibition featuring Photography from Plastic Cameras

Live Performance by Funk/Jazz Ensemble, Pocket, at 9pm
Plastic Fantastic is a group photography exhibition and benefit auction presented by APA San Diego featuring images created with plastic cameras. Each artist has approached their imagery with a singular voice, utilizing a variety of film types and techniques — using plastic cameras. Curated by respected photography gallery owner Joseph Bellows, the show will take place at Subtext Gallery in Little Italy for one night only on Friday, September 3rd, 2010. Beverages will be provided at the reception, as well as a live performance from San Diego funk/jazz ensemble, Pocket. For more information visit apasd.org.
