Interns must be detail-oriented, motivated, and professional. Experience with film-making,

especially documentary film-making, is preferred. The intern must provide his/her transportation

to the Empower office, other work site, or interview location. An interest in the work of Empower is

a definite must, both for the organization and the intern. A successful candidate will maintain

these. Innovative and Solution-Oriented, Motivated and detailed oriented, Positive Attitude and

flexibility with changing needs.Able to work well with others and alone.Not afraid to be challenged

to think and take action. A knowledge of San Diego cultures and community a huge plus.Excel in

written communication and editing skills,Digital Videography and Internet Tech Skills are a huge

plus.Bilingual (oral and written) in Spanish or Tagalog a plus. Access to video and editing

equipment and software helpful, but not required Event Volunteers - Assist with tasks at

organization events -In collaboration with the Event Planning Intern, Events Volunteers will assist

with day-of tasks for events, including: o Set-up o Food preparation o Food service o Registration

tables o Clean up o Other tasks as necessary for each event Time Commitment: (short term) Event

volunteers will be asked to attend one event orientation and be available for at least 5 hours on the

day of the event. Qualifications: Volunteers must be courteous and professional. Some Empower

events are more formal than other and interns will be asked to dress accordingly. The volunteer

must provide his/her transportation to the orientation site and event venue. An interest in the

work of Empower is a definite plus, both for the organization and the volunteer. Lead the filming,

interviewing, and editing for an oral history documentary about the local redistricting process in

San Diego, duties include:Contacting community experts and elders for interviews,Planning

interview questions,Conducting and filming interviews,Producing and editing film to be posted on
