DBFHAP is an acronym for Discipline Based FLEX & HURDLE Activity Proposal.
Your FLEX credit (full time contract faculty only) obligation can be met either on or off campus. You will need to complete and turn in one of these forms prior to attending an off campus professional development activity.

FLEX credit is your professional development that is mandatory and is ONLY for full time contract faculty. HURDLE credit is available to both full time and adjunct faculty to achieve step increases for pay purposes. For a detailed description and printable version click here. Top
What is Educational Incentive Credit?
This is the professional development/educational incentive for Classified Professionals at SWC. Classified can enrich their lives by talking classes, attending workshops, or other approved activities. Educational Incentive credit allows Classified Professionals to move up in pay ranges. How do I apply for Educational Incentive Credit?
Look in public folders for the EI form. Complete it for each activity and have your supervisor sign it. The turn it in to the Human Resources Office. If you have more questions, please email Patricia Soto . Top

What is the TLC?
The TLC stands for "Teaching and Learning Center" and is a place for SWC employees to come and use an area located in Staff Development to work on projects, talk and interact within a private environment. The TLC has computers, scanners, printers and most institutional software programs. We also have technical assistance for you. Top

Any SWC employee. This is NOT a student area so please do not bring small children or students with you. Top
Can I create my own workshop and invite the campus to attend?
Staff Development is always open to new and creative workshops to help enrich our employees lives. If you have an idea for a workshop you would like to offer, and would like our support, please fill out the Workshop Proposal Form. Top
