2008 Season Wrap-Up
Team,
We've had a great year and look forward to an even more amazing year to come in 2009. Recruiting is going well and we anticipate next year Southwestern Team to be even stronger and bigger.
Congratulations go out to Curtis Mitchell, State Champion in 100m and 200m and Athlete of the meet! This was another first for SWC. Additionally, Curtis won AOY (Athlete of the Year - Track) for the Foothill Conference. This goes along with the many awards and honors he's won including Male Athlete of the Year for Southwestern College. Please join me and congratulate your teammate for his efforts.
Congratulations also go out to Joella Silvera for winning Foothill Conference Co-Athlete of the Year (track). Again, congratulate Joella and wish her well as she will be leaving us to compete at a four-year level university next fall and spring.
Finally, I have been named Foothill Conference Female Coach of the Year and SWC Female Coach of the Year. This is my second consecutive year winning these honors but in truth, these awards and every award I am to ever win is shared with each of you, my staff and administrators. I thank you for this.
Train hard, do well on finals and pass 24 units! The school, team, coaches all need you next year. And for you athletes that are leaving us, we will miss you, thank you for being part of two amazing teams and best of luck in your future endeavors.

"I love track but when you run and practice with the jags you get more than just a workout. Your teammates help you get the best out of it and the coaches are just part of the team." - archived athlete testimonials...
