FROM MICROAGGRESSIONS TO HATE VIOLENCE: RACISM TOWARDS AAPI COMMUNITIES
MONDAY, 5/10/2021 | 11:45 AM – 1:15 PM

This workshop will cover the impact on mental health as a result of microaggressions, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of oppression with a particular focus on AAPI communities. It is an introductory course that uses experiential and/or didactic experiences to:

• increase awareness of, and sensitivity to, implicit bias and microaggressions;

• build upon knowledge of specific reference group identities—such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, social class, and religion;

• cultivate organizational strategies to promote workplace inclusivity through skill development and critical consciousness.
