LNT Announces Two Summer Classes
Posted: 5/1/2013
Classes Start June 3rd

The Landscape and Nursery Technology Program will be offering two classes this summer.  They are:

LNT 72 – Horticulture Equipment: Care and Operation – this class is only taught in summer and has not been offered for quite some time due to budget cuts. Learn how to safely and efficiently operate the wide variety of equipment used in the horticultural trades. Basically anything with a motor or engine is covered all the way from electric hedge shears to skid-steer loaders and forklifts. A great hands-on class perfect for existing landscape workers or students preparing for the landscape trades. Interested homeowners and other "green-thumbers" are also welcome.  Offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:30 to 9:00 pm June 4 thru July 25th.

LNT 143 – Tree and Shrub Production – all the skills needed to take newly developed seeds and rooted cuttings and grow them on to a marketable nursery plant size. Greenhouse management, soil media, and proper fertilization and pruning is covered. Offered Mondays from 4:30 to 9:05 pm from June 3rd to July 22nd. A great continuation of the Plant Propagation course but completion of the Plant Propagation course is not required.
