Debate Team

Since the mid-1960's the Southwestern College (SWC) Debate Team has maintained a rich and successful history within the college debate community. Uniquely situated along the southwestern border, our debate program is grounded in student-oriented pedagogies that center their perspectives as educational leaders.

Our students earn units to participate in competitive debate tournaments against other students from Universities and Colleges across the country. Debate is a highly engaging and time intensive activity for students who are passionate about research and advocacy, or for students who are looking for ways to separate themselves in a highly competitive transfer environment.
