My Background
I have been teaching at SWC since 2011 as a part-time faculty member. I was hired full-time in June 2018. I previously taught at California State University, Fullerton, Chapman University, Riverside City College, Santiago Canyon College, and online for Central Texas College.
I am from Long Beach, born and raised (yes, I use to commute from Long Beach! That usually gets a few surprised looks when I tell my students). Since receiving the great news that I was hired full-time here at SWC, I have moved down to the San Diego area - I am still learning about some of the hidden gems of San Diego, along with the best food places. If you know of any great place, I would love to have you share it with me (pretty please)!
I am a geek and love anything Doctor Who, Marvel, Sherlock, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - among others. When I have spare time, I love to do yoga, read fantasy/SciFi (i.e., Jim Butcher, Simon R. Green, Yasmine Galenorn) books, and play with my cats (yes, I am a crazy cat lady, and I embrace my non-normative sense of being).
