I have a BA in History; an MA in American Studies/Folklore; and a PhD in British and American Literature. I am a Willa Cather scholar, and also a J. M. Barrie scholar--which means I study everything I can about these writers and their times (if you ever want to know anything about Peter Pan . . . . )

I have reared eight children and earned my degrees later in my life, but still while a couple of them were home. I know what it is like to go to school, work, and take care of kids. I recently moved here from Eugene where I taught at the University of Oregon, and at Lane Community College for 11 years.

I love the desert! I just finished archaeological training to be able to help survey cultural sites in the desert.  I have a beautiful puppy who is half husky and half golden retriever.

I love to read and write. I am currently reading The Dalai Lama's Cat.

I also love to cook.

An unusual thing about me: I used to be a traditional midwife.

I can't wait to read your introductions!

Best Regards,

Dr. Walker
