Advance your automotive career with specialized Electric Vehicle training. Southwestern College (SWC) offers a state-of-the-art Hybrid, EV, and Alternative Fuel Automotive Program designed to prepare students for the rapidly evolving automotive industry. As hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs) become increasingly common and alternative fuel technologies expand, this program equips students with specialized skills to excel in this dynamic field.

With a $7 million investment in cutting-edge training facilities, the program provides hands-on experience using advanced diagnostic tools and professional-grade equipment. Students work on modern training vehicles, including the Toyota Prius (hybrid), Toyota Mirai (hydrogen fuel cell), and Mercedes EQS (electric), ensuring exposure to the latest technologies.

The curriculum, led by expert instructors, covers high-voltage systems, battery technology, regenerative braking, electric drivetrains, and fuel cell technology, alongside training in safety standards and environmental regulations. Collaboration with leading automotive manufacturers and local businesses enhances learning opportunities through internships and career pathways.
