SWC Curriculum Committee
The purpose of the Curriculum Committee is to review and approve new and revised curriculum and academic policies to ensure compliance with the Academic Senate 10+1, title 5 and California Education Code prior to submission to the District Governing Board for final approval. In addition, the Southwestern College Curriculum Committee provides guidance and oversight to ensure that all curriculum is sound, comprehensive and responsive to the evolving needs of our students as well as the academic, business, and local communities and helps the college to fulfill its mission.
Per the Brown Act, all agendas are posted 72 hours in advance on the Southwestern College website
and outside for public viewing.
Consistent with Executive Order N-29-20 and Government Code sections 54953.2, 54954.1, 54954.2, and 54957.5, the Southwestern College Curriculum Committee will swiftly provide to individuals with disabilities reasonable modification or accommodation or modification of the meeting procedure. All vote decisions by committee members with voting rights will be documented by yes (Y), no (N) or abstention (A) in the minutes. Votes for time extension are not agenda items and do not need to be recorded.
