Environmental Management encompasses the principles of science, engineering and communication to protect and enhance the safety and health of our communities and natural resources. The Associate of Science award and Certificate of Achievement award emphasize the study of the effects of hazardous substances on the environment and the solutions to help minimize environmental pollutants and their effects on the environment. Students completing this award will also be 40-hour HAZWOPER certified (upon completion of EHMT 230 with a grade of “C” or better). California and the nation need individuals who are knowledgeable in compliance and regulatory requirements at both the State and Federal levels, are skilled in using sampling instrumentation, and understand the importance of proper analytical techniques to support environmental protection. An environmental career offers excellent pay, job satisfaction, and an opportunity to help protect your community.
