Computers

Computers are provided for study and research related activities. The Library OneSearch System and internet access is accessible from all computers in the library building.

Chula Vista

2nd floor: Limited applications are available on computers located on the second floor. Open to students and community users

3rd floor: More applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and other educational software applications are available on computers located in the Interdisciplinary  Tutoring Lab. Access is limited to students currently enrolled at Southwestern College.

The number of computers is limited. We ask you to please use them for academic activities, as per Southwestern College's Computer and Network Use policy.

WiFi Access

All library locations should have access to WiFi. Scan for available networks.  

Printing

You can print from any library computer at  the Southwestern College or through wireless printing. The Pay-for-Print system is enabled through your MySWC account. 

  • Printing costs 10¢ a page for black and white and 25¢ for color.
  • Check your balance or add funds to your printing account at a Pay Elite Station.
    • You can use cash (bills or coins), and credit cards to add funds to your account.
    • You can access your account  at the Pay Elite station by swiping your SWC ID or by entering your MySWC credentials.
  • Send your print jobs from any library computer or your own mobile device.
    • Retrieve your print jobs Print Release Stations located in the library building.
      • If you want to print color, make sure you select the color printer.
      • Double sided printing is available ONLY for black and white printing.
    • Swipe your SWC ID at the print release station or login with your My SWC account
    • Select the the print job(s) you wand and print! 
  • Library staff will gladly assist you with the printing process.

Scanning

Bookscanner

The library at Chula Vista has a new book scanner. Free and easy to use, the KIC Bookeye scanner is located on the 2nd floor of the Library. If you need to scan some pages of a book or copy an assignment, this is the easiest way to do it. You can save in different file formats and send to email, the cloud, or your USB device.

Flatbed scanners are located on the 3rd floor of the library as well as HEC OM and HEC SY Libraries.

Copying

Chula Vista: for photocopies, use the Konica Minolta multifunction machine on the third floor. You can scan and print documents, using the Pay-for-Print system. 

Higher Education Center Libraries have self-service photocopiers within the library or close by. Photocopies are 10¢ per single sided page.
