Board Policies & Procedures

Board Policy (BP) 4105 - Distance Education was approved by the Governing Board in July of 2015.  The accompanying Administrative Procedure (AP) 4105 was approved by the Academic Senate. In September of 2015, Board Policy (BP) 4115 - Distance Education Regular Effective Contact was approved by the Governing Board.  Administrative Procedure (AP) 4115 - Regular Effective Contact was approved by the Academic Senate.  The Regular Effective Contact policy provides an explanation of the contact requirements between faculty and students in online classes.  The procedure defines the type and frequency of instructor-initiated contact required in DE courses and provides examples of regular effective contact.  Guidelines for establishing contact expectations and managing instructor absence are also provided.
