MySWC Account

You are required to create/activate a MySWC account because you will need to sign-in to lab/office computers, along with other SWC secure systems, using your account. This type of technology is known as "Single Sign-On" authentication, or just simply "SSO" for short. In addition, for students, a MySWC account is required for course registration and also how your SWC Student Email account is activated (where we send ALL official SWC communication).

Generally, it takes less than 5 minutes from start to finish.

Have your personal email account open and ready in a different browser window or tab and a mobile phone that accepts text messsages, have that with you as well. We will send you Verification Codes to validate your account. Your personal email address and mobile phone number will be used to reset your password, should you forget it in the future.

• STUDENTS:
  Please make sure you are typing your username in correctly. All student usernames follow the same pattern - 2 letters and 7 numbers (example: md1234567). If that is not the problem, when did you receive our welcome email in your personal email account? If it was today, try to create/activate your MySWC account after 5pm or the next morning, as there is sometimes a delay. If it has been quite a while and you still cannot create your account, see below for contact information to ask for assistance.

• STUDENTS:
  You were assigned a temporary password to create/activate your MySWC account. Your temporary student password is exactly 8 characters and is made up of the first letter of your username (uppercase), second letter of your username (lowercase), and your 6-digit date of birth. For example, if you were born on July 4, 1993, your temporary student password would look like Md070493 - please be sure you are using 2 numbers for your birth month (07 instead of 7), 2 numbers for your birth day (04 instead of 4), and 2 numbers for your birth year (93 instead of 1993). If you are copying/pasting your temporary password, make sure you are not copying any space before or after the password. Your account will only be locked for 5 minutes. After that time, you are free to try to login again or create your account. If you have already created/activated your MySWC account, login to the MySWC Portal and select the Main Menu icon on the top, left corner of the page, then "Change MySWC Password" under the "Resources" tab. You will be brought to a page that contains instructions to change your password, depending if you're a student or employee. IMPORTANT: If you use the Outlook, or other mobile app to check your SWC email, you must immediately update your devices with your new MySWC password!
