Curriculum
Once accepted into the program, you must register for all the courses shown for each semester unless you have already passed the course with a grade of “C” or better.
First Semester
- VN 30 - Introduction to Pharmacology (1st 9 weeks) - 1 Unit
- VN 103 - Vocational Nursing I - 6 Units
- VN 103L - Introduction to Vocational Nursing Lab I - 6 Units
- VN 31 - Basic Concepts in Pharmacology (2nd 9 weeks) - 1 Unit
Second Semester
- VN 130 - Pharmacology for Nurses - 2 Units
- VN 201 - Vocational Nursing II - 6 Units
- VN 201L - Introduction to Vocational Nursing Laboratory II - 6 Units
Third Semester
- VN 250 - Maternal-Child-Adult Health - 4.5 Units
- VN 250L - Maternal-Child-Adult Health Vocational Nursing Laboratory III - 4.5 Units
- VN 251 - Leadership (2nd 9 weeks) - 1 Unit
- VN 251L Leadership (2nd 9 weeks) Vocational Nursing Laboratory IV - 1 Unit
- PSCY 101 - General Psychology - 3 Units
Upon completion of all courses with a “C” or better, students may petition for a Certificate of Achievement in Vocational Nursing or an Associates Degree, if degree course work is completed. Individuals who wish to earn an Associate Degree in this program should meet with a counselor to plan a schedule for meeting the additional general education courses required for a degree in Vocational Nursing.
