SWC Cares Closet

Clothing Assistance

The SWC Cares Closet is a mini-clothing boutique where students can get free clothing free of charge.  Originally an effort of the Academic Senate to offer students interview clothing, the Cares Closet is now part of SWC Cares safety net of programs and offers everyday, seasonal, and special occasion/interview clothing items to students all year long.  

The SWC Cares Closet is located in Building 67-177.  During the Summer26 Session, Cares Closet Clothing will be available for students in front of the SWC Cares Office 67-172 Monday and Thursday 1pm-4pm and Tuesday and Wednesday 9am-12pm.   Cares Closet will be closed Fridays and campus holidays. 

Clothing donations are also accepted at the same location during open hours, year round.  Monetary donations are also accepted and appreciated as we are part of the SWC Foundation.

Eligibility

• SWC Students with a valid SWC ID Numbers.
• No eligibility forms or proof of income is required.

Process

• Come in during our operating hours 
• Select up to a total of 10 clothing items per semester.  As inventory changes, so may the number of clothing items students can select each semester. 

Donations

Clothing donations can be dropped off to Cares Closet during open hours.  We accept gently warn and laundered clothing of all sizes:

• Interview clothing
• Everyday/Casual clothing
• Special occasion dress clothing
• Lab coats and scrubs
• Seasonal clothing (includes jackets, rain coats, etc)
• We are not accepting children's clothing, furniture, and other miscellaneous items at this time
