About Us

Our aim is to provide excellent professional development opportunities that enhance our abilities to effectively engage with our students and cultivate an environment in which students and employees alike can thrive.

We participate in the Flexible Calendar Program with the Chancellor’s Office which means that we have committed to the State that we will provide professional development in lieu of work.

"FLEX, or Flexible Calendar, at SWC reflects the State Academic Senate guidelines for faculty development and ensures fulfillment of the purpose of the Flexible Calendar Program: ...to provide time for faculty to participate in development activities that area related to staff, student and instructional improvement (Title 5, Section 55720)."
