Financial Aid Status

You can check your financial aid any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, through MySWC. The "My Financial Aid" tool is a section within MySWC that gives you instant access to your most current financial aid information. No need to wait in line or call.

How to Access My Financial Aid

  1. Log in to the MySWC Portal using your MySWC account credentials

  2. Look for "Self-Service Menu on MySWC" on the left side of the page. Scroll down to "Financial Aid" and select "My Financial Aid"

  3. Wait a moment for the page to load. If your desired academic year is not showing, you have not yet submitted your FAFSA for that year

What You Will See in My Financial Aid

  • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
To view your SAP status, log in to MySWC, go to My Financial Aid, and select "Financial Aid Counseling" at the top of the page. Green means you are meeting SAP standards. Yellow may mean you need to submit documents or that your status requires attention. Red means your status is unsatisfactory and you will not receive financial aid until it is resolved. If your status is yellow or red, click the link immediately to find out what steps you need to take. For more information about SAP standards and the appeal process, visit the Satisfactory Academic Progress page.
  • Missing Documents
This section shows any documents the Financial Aid Office still needs to process your file. Missing documents appear in yellow. Completed documents appear in green. Click on any hyperlinked document name to access a PDF of the form.
  • Checklist
This shows the processing status of your financial aid application. Green means complete. Yellow means action is required on your part. Click on the hyperlinks for more information.
  • Pell Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU)
This section shows how much of your total Pell Grant eligibility you have used. Students have a total of 600% available for their entire undergraduate career. If you are planning to transfer to a four-year school, try to keep at least 200% remaining for your upper-division coursework. To learn more about Pell lifetime eligibility, visit the Pell Grant page.
  • Federal Direct Student Loan Balance
This section shows your current Federal Direct Student Loan balance at SWC (if you have borrowed a loan at SWC).

Financial Aid Counseling

Click "Financial Aid Counseling" at the top of the My Financial Aid page to access additional information about your aid:

  • My Awards: Shows all of your aid awards for the selected academic year, organized by category.
  • Request a New Loan: If you have been offered a Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan as part of your financial aid package, you can accept or decline it here. Before completing this step, make sure you have already completed Entrance Counseling and signed your Master Promissory Note (MPN) at studentaid.gov. Activating your loan before completing those steps will delay processing. Visit the Applying for a Loan page for the complete step-by-step process before taking action here.
  • Award Letter:  Your Award Letter is your official financial aid eligibility notice. It lists all of the aid you are eligible to receive for the academic year, which is the same information shown in the My Awards section, but in an official letter format. Your Award Letter is updated any time a change is made to your financial aid package, so it always reflects your most current eligibility.
  • Correspondence Option: This options allows you to prevent all electronic notifications from being sent to you and instead you will only receive paper copies of all financial aid communications.
