Program Description:

The Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG) is a community college financial aid program for full Time Cal Grant B and Cal Grant C recipients who are enrolled at least full time (12+ units). This grant becomes available for the 2018-19 academic year. The purpose of the SSCG grant is to provide students with additional financial aid to help offset the total cost of community college attendance, and to encourage full-time attendance and successful on-time completion.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be a California resident or an eligible AB540 student
• Not have a bachelor's or professional degree
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be a Cal Grant B or C recipient that received a full-time Cal Grant payment
• Must be enrolled full-time (12 units or more)
• Must be meeting Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards
• Must have unmet need to receive the SSCG

Grant Amounts:

The grant pays up to $4000 annually:

                12-14.99 units = $649 per semester
                15+ units = $2,000 per semester

In order to be eligible for this new grant, you must be registered for ALL your units for the semester by our freeze date:        Fall 2019 - September 7, 2018        Spring 2019 - February 15, 2019

Important!  Units added after these dates cannot be included for SSCG eligibility.

Please note: Students might be able to use Summer 2019 units to maximize SSCG eligibility. 

Example #1
    A student registers in 12 units for Fall 2018 (receives $649) and 12 units in Spring 2019 (receives $649). If he/she register for 6 units for Summer 2019, would be eligible for maximum SSGC, which would be an additional $2702, or a total of $4,000 for the year.

Example #2: 
  A student registers in 15 units for Fall 2018 (receives $2,000) and 12 units in Spring 2019 (receives $649). If he/she register for 3 units for Summer 2019, would be eligible for maximum SSGC, which would be an additional $1,351, or a total of $4,000 for the year.
