Graphic Design Services

The Office of Advancement and Community Engagement (ACE) provides graphic design services to support the college community, whether through guidance for projects or executing design requests. By working with our department, we can help ensure that design needs are completed with accuracy, consistency, and that all assets meet printing and vendor needs for production. Although we try to accommodate requests, please keep in mind that priority is given to district-wide marketing materials, top-level institutional needs, and institutional publications and special events. In addition, seasonal peak times take priority, such as April and May, leading up to our end of year ceremonies and commencement.

Our department offers event-related design such as theme selection, save the dates, invitations, flyers, posters, day-of needs and décor. Events require multiple stages of planning—from logistics to promotion to execution—so it is essential to contact us early. Early planning ensures enough time for design, production of day-of materials and ample promotion to maximize success and attendance.
For all indoor and outdoor media, such as wall wraps and plaques, all departments must contact us before any primary step is taken. This is required, as various steps are involved in the production process, such as: clearance and approval for installation, measurements of spaces, vendor selection, design production and approval, etc.

Outdoor media also includes any flyers, a-frames and signage that is placed around our campuses. For these types of posting, we ask that you follow the On Campus Posting Guidelines and refer to them, whenever posting any announcements.
All official college logos and assets may be accessed by college employees. The use of logos and brand assets are limited to Southwestern College employees and are not permitted for use by external parties, unless prior approval has been granted through the Office of ACE. Access to Official Logo & Brand Assets are available. To access files, you must sign-in to your @swccd.edu account.
- When accessing logos or brand elements, do not make modifications or adjustments. Should any logo needs arise, please submit an ACE Request Form.
- All logos must be produced through our department. Employees should not create or modify logos independently.
- By centralizing official logo design requests, we ensure that logos are produced accurately, to meet the needs of digital use, production , and vendor needs.
The Office of ACE is responsible for messaging on the large electronic message board on the corner of Otay Lakes Road and East H Street, known as the Marquee. Messaging on this billboard is reserved for external community facing messaging, enrollment efforts, performing arts promotion, festivals, and more. We reserve the right to approve or deny posts, based on availability, needs, messaging and priority.
Southwestern College Central Services provides in-house printing for a variety of needs. For cost-savings options, we encourage you to begin with them first. However, if you need assistance finding a printing vendor for external production, contact us and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Promotional items extend the college’s look and brand into the community. Because of this, we are able to assist with guidance or development of artwork, logo adjustments, and vendor guidance when promotional needs arise. Support can range from guidance with working with vendors, to producing final artwork or reviewing and approving vendor artwork.

If you need support for promotional items, please follow these steps before submitting an ACE Request Form:
1. Contact a vendor and select your promotional items
2. If unsure what vendor to contact, we can help with vendor recommendations.
3. Request a quote from you vendor and ask for artwork specifications (dimensions, colors and required file format for submitting artwork).
4. Now you are ready to submit your ACE Request Form
5. Submit artwork specifications along with your ACE Request Form to ensure your artwork is created correctly.
Support is also afforded for special projects such as one-time plaque needs, production of donor walls, milestone events, retirement celebrations, etc. For these requests, we ask that you reach out to us with ample time. Planning and production for special projects may be more involved and may take longer.
