The Instructional Support Services office, under the supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, brings together many institutional support services to promote a supportive, student-centered learning environment.
The department provides an administrative structure which facilitates expanded and improved opportunities for collaboration across disciplines, innovative curriculum design, and new degree options. The office works to insure that all credit and continuing education offerings are current and maintain quality and relevancy.
The mission of Instructional Support Services (ISS) is to provide information, expertise, and resources that support academic areas of Southwestern Community College.
Services through the Office of Instructional Support Services include:
- Consulting for instructional and curriculum development
- Development of the College Schedules
- Development of the College Catalog
- CurricUNET Training
The goal of the department is to develop and support students to the expectaitons of the college while addressing their academic and affective needs. Staff members interact with classroom faculty and staff throughout the campus to assist with the development of programs and practices that integrate learning skills and practices with standard course curricula and the Southwestern Community College student experience.
Instructional Support Services promotes teaching effectiveness and innovation for all SWC instructors. ISS services include consulting for instructional and curriculum development.
